United States Marine Corps Aerial Navigator Badge
Criteria: Issued to enlisted personnel of the United States Marine Corps who have completed flight training as a navigator on board Marine Corps aircraft at the Marine Aerial Navigator Course. Marine Aerial Navigators serve in the Military Occupational Specialty “7371” while undergoing aircraft model-specific training. After this training, personnel are awarded to First Navigator (MOS 7372). Navigators that enter the warrant officer ranks move into Mission Specialist/Navigation Officer (MOS 7380). Warrant officer navigators, however, are not authorized to wear a separate badge because of their rank. The aerial navigator badge is similar in appearance to the Naval Flight Officer Badge and is a “successor” to the Naval Aviation Observer (Navigation) Badge, issued between March 1945 and March 1947. The Marine Aerial Navigator Badge is the only independent aviation badge issued to the United States Marine Corp, as it is not issued to U.S. Navy aviation personnel.
